Marlin Alumni Shine at the 2021 USMS Long Course National Championships

The 2021 USMS (Masters) Long Course National Championships were held in the fall at SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio (near Cleveland).  Two of our Marlin Alumni, Meredith Stakem and Dylan Buehler qualified and were on deck for the event.  The theme of the venue capitalized on the “Rock and Roll” hall of fame in nearby Cleveland, which included various associated rock and roll swag. The event was also broadcast live via the web for viewing remotely.

Meredith Stakem swimming for DCAC, swam 5 events,  placing first in her age group (40-44) in 50m Free with a time of 27.96, and first in the 50m Backstroke with a time of 33.50.  It was really amazing to see Meredith turn on the speed!

Dylan Buehler, swimming unattached, swam 4 events, placing third in his age group (18-24) in the 50m free with a time of 27.26.  Dylan also placed fourth the 100m Free, second in the 100m Fly, and first in the 200IM.

It is great to see our Marlins participation in US National Masters and still enjoying the sport!
